Abstract :
A ring oscillator with two control signals is presented. It is used in the design of a low power multi-band voltage- controlled ring oscillator. Fabricated in CMOS 0.18 mum technology, a single VCO can support operation in six frequency bands including 450 MHz, 700 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 2400 MHz. The VCO occupies 2461 mum2 chip area and consumes from 2.2 mW to 5.6 mW from a 1.8 V supply.
