Abstract :
A modification of the synthesis method of Katok and Shchepkina (see Tech. and Constr. in Elect. Equip., no.1, p.28-33, 1999) for single-mode optic fibres is proposed. Using given values of the phase and group velocities of a propagating mode, the method restores a profile of the refractive index in the cross section of the fiber. It is shown, that these values determine completely the changes of the refraction index, and, therefore, the variance of the velocity dispersion in the optical fiber. Single-mode fibers with an enlarged passband are obtained and discussed
