Abstract :
With the economic and resources data collected from 6 provinces of middle China from 1988 to 2009, growth drag caused by energy, land and water is calculated by the Romer Endogenous Economic Growth Model. The results show that growth drag is widespread, and there is a “Δ” shape arrange of resources growth drag among middle provinces, in the same meaning that the grow drag arrangement is: Henan & Shanxi >; Hubei & Hunan >; Anhui & Jiangxi. And the main resource which caused the growth drag is different in areas, for example, in Hunan and Shanxi the biggest growth drag is from water; in Henan, Jiangxi and Anhui provinces the main resource coursed growth drag is energy; while in Hubei province the economic growth is mainly affected by the land resource. To reduce the growth drag, six provinces in middle China should not only accelerate changing the style of economic growth, improve innovation capability, but also make good use of the guidance function of each practice base, promote the construction of mid-east ecological compensation mechanism and low-carbon economy development.
