Abstract :
Highway construction has caused certain negative effect on the global environment. The diversity of environment formation has been decreasing, and the natural, environmental, historical and cultural diversity that embodies regional characteristics has been seriously damaged. This paper discusses on highway landscape based on ecological design concept and points out that construction of highway landscape shall not be restricted to satisfaction in physical functions and aesthetic forms, but the ecological design concept is the foundation for environmental and ecological benefit. According to the fact that human society has both physical and spiritual attributes, the ecological design concept of highway landscape ought to include contents of both the ecology of physical resource and the ecology of cultural resources. In respect of natural ecological landscape and cultural ecological landscape, this paper analyzes the concept and methods of ecological design of highway landscape and mainly introduces the concept of cultural ecological landscape into the ecological design of highway landscape to demonstrate regional cultural features in landscape design and build regional highway landscape. This paper advocates implementing the concept of ecological design in all links of highway landscape construction and management and comprehensively realizing economic benefit, social benefit and ecological benefit in highway construction to facilitate sustainable development of human society.
