  • Abstract
    This paper presents a time synchronization mechanism and its application to a multipoint traffic measurement system. The time synchronization system uses the time delivered from GPS as source and the ISDN for delivering the time to multipoints. The traffic measurement system incorporated with the time synchronization system is used for analyzing characteristics of traffic dynamics. The measurement system adds time-stamp obtained from the time synchronization system to all IP packets. We also compare some traffic measurement systems and investigate requirements for the time synchronization mechanism in the systems. Finally, we present our experimental environment and related topics
