Abstract
The radiation efficiency of the antennas for portable telephones has been measured based on the pattern integration method (PIM) and the random field method (RFM). It is not easy to obtain a random field environment to apply the RFM. Although an anechoic chamber is required, the PIM is considered to be suitable for measuring the radiation efficiency of antennas for portable telephones because of the simplicity of the equipment, high accuracy, and stability of the measured results.
