Abstract
In order to efficiently deal with paroxysmal events of waterborne traffic in Three Gorges reservoir area and aim at the goal of “rapid response, unified command and effective action”, the inland waterborne traffic emergency system based on WebGIS (Web Geographic Information System) was proposed. In this paper, the system which conformed to J2EE (Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition) standard had a four-tier architecture consisting of client tier, web tier, business tier and EIS (Enterprise Information Systems) tier. Based on the system design and function analysis, the construction of this system was accomplished by integration of Java server pages (JSP) technology and WebGIS technology. The result of system run indicated that the ability of the administrative department was improved to dealing with paroxysmal events of waterborne traffic.
