Abstract
We investigate normalized adaptive frequency-domain equalization (NA-FDE) in a 1,000-km mode-division multiplexed (MDM) transmission experiment. We show that master-slave phase estimation can be used to reduce carrier recovery complexity with less than 1 dB Q2-penalty.
