Abstract
A new scheme of zero switching loss inverter in which the zero voltage time of DC link is controllable was presented. The principle that capacitor discharging clamps the voltage across DC link was applied to make the inverter switch under the condition of zero voltage, with switching loss being zero. This scheme has a number of advantages over other schemes of zero switching loss inverter, such as: the avoidance of high voltage problem caused by DC link resonating, the controllability of zero voltage time of DC link, convenient adaptability for different modulation strategies of inverter, simpler circuit structure, and so on. The working principle of circuit was introduced and the relations between zero voltage hold time and circuit parameters was analyzed. The results of test and simulation verified the principle of the scheme
