Discussion on the overlay of asphalt pavement maintenance

Paving overlay asphalt on an old road is generally adopted in road maintenance projects. Highway project is a linear project, diseases and the maintenance requirements of the component sections are very different. Firstly, the paper analyzes the decision-making process of maintenance program for asphalt pavement. Then, it points out that the road should be classified into some sections rationally according to its properties and the extent of diseases in the same unit as much as possible, and then to determine an appropriate overlay program. The overlay program is including functional overlay and structural reinforcement overlay on asphalt pavement. This article summarizes both the application and precautions of them. Finally, the paper summarizes some typical overlay program.
