Abstract :
An alternate path fiber distributed data interface (APFDDI) topology is described. This topology is compared with a definition for computer survivability. Experimental results prove that the topology works. The token flow is described. Control and reconfiguration delay times for the APFDDI are discussed. Many commercial and military applications exist where APFDDI will provide important redundancy not available with other topologies
