Abstract
A highly efficient and compact inverter has been developed for use as a ring generator in an optical subscriber network. A new circuit topology is proposed for the inverter that utilizes PWM control and polarity change switches to achieve both high efficiency and reduced size. The volume of the inverter is half of the earlier ring generators, and the maximum efficiency is about 15% higher
