Abstract
A stability analysis of the boost power converter using an electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) as the output filter is presented. The simple model of an EDLC is used in the analysis that is based on the state-space averaging method. As a result, it has been made clear that there are some cases where the internal small capacitance of an EDLC causes unstable oscillation of the output voltage in starting-up transition, even if the operation of the boost power converter is stable in the steady-state
