Abstract :
The inductor commutation soft-switched PWM inverter (ICSI) and ICSIs driven by a frequency modulated PWM signal (FM-ICSI) are analyzed, considering the effects on the commutation elements for the soft switching. From the analysis, the design strategy for the commutation elements is clarified and it is verified experimentally
