Abstract :
This paper gives a qualitative comparison of four voice transmission schemes for IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN. The schemes are distributed coordination function, point coordination function, priority queuing and Blackburst. Comparison study shows that the standard IEEE 802.11 scheme is not good for voice communication. Blackburst gives the best solution for achieving the required QoS
