  • Abstract
Industrialization has dazzled us at its early stages and change d our lives in an unprecedented manner. But this new phenomenon was not as innocent as it was once proposed. As time passed by it caused devastating impacts over the entire planet. These impacts are large enough even to change the climate. Now green is the mantra of people all around the world. There are many sectors in this arena contributing to the global warming by varying amounts and ICT, Information and Communication Technology cannot be regarded as an exception to our chagrin. Therefore, in ICT too, it is urgent to take action to reduce energy consumption. In this work we present energy saving methods and focus on the base station on/off strategies to save energy.
