Abstract
In software-based radios, for channel setup, each mobile terminal and each base station can select an appropriate transmission format, such as modulation/demodulation, encoding/decoding and multiple access schemes, according to the user´s QoS (quality of service), channel assignment condition and so on. In this paper, in order to focus attention on the “access scheme” in the transmission format, we assume a software-based wireless multimedia communications system where TDMA and CDMA schemes are flexibly selectable, and discuss the “impact of access scheme selectability” on traffic performance
