Abstract
The finite element model of a 12-meter-long coach for the rear-end crash simulation was established with commercial code ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The seats and dummies imported from software LS-PREPOST were included in the model. The effects of passenger posture and distance between dummy head and headrest on neck injury were investigated. Results show that the two factors have certain influence on neck injury. Shorten the distance between dummy head and headrest helps to reduce the neck injury and neck moment.
