Abstract
Presents a two dimensional least square phase unwrapping algorithm based on region growing strategy. The solution is carried out by dividing the image in regions that are sequentially least square unwrapped. Reliable regions are unwrapped at the beginning of the procedure at variance of critical ones which are dealt with in the final steps: this avoids error propagation from critical to reliable areas. Experimental results carried out on real data show that the proposed algorithm achieves better performances when compared to the existing weighted least square algorithm
