Abstract :
This paper provides an overview of open middleware of a retail set-top box. The middleware is a layer of software, also known as the application platform, which makes applications transparent of host operating systems and the vendor-specific hardware. An application written once can be run on any retail set-top box with such application platform with minimal or no modification
