Abstract :
This article is to analyze the feasibility of applying Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) to the parallel hybrid electric public bus. The computing method of parameter design of the hybrid electric public bus´ powertrain system was given, and the simulation of a vehicle performance was conducted with ADVISOR program. The result shows that it can well improve the fuel economy of the public bus and greatly reduce emission of the urban pollutant with the SRM installed to the hybrid electric public bus´ powertrain system. Meanwhile, the loss of braking energy of SRM is lower than other types of electric motor during the process of regenerative braking.
