Abstract :
Generation scheduling is performed by the market operator in Iran electricity market. Day ahead scheduling is faced with unavoidable uncertainties and day ahead generation maintenance scheduling is also not an exception. In an industrial frame work, there are always deviations from the maintenance schedule, and in most cases physical disconnection/reconnection of the generation unit cannot be done at the exact moment predetermined in the maintenance schedule. These deviations cause some problems in market operator generation scheduling and making the payments to the generation companies. We propose a simple mechanism that mitigates the imposed problems and explain its advantages over the current mechanism. Finally, the effect of optimal disconnection time requesting is investigated considering the capacity payment mechanism in Iran Electricity Market. This mechanism make incentives for the market players to consider power system reliability requirements.
