Abstract :
The incessant upsurge in the number of vehicles in the transportation system demands an improvement of traffic safety and efficiency of the overall transportation infrastructure. Modern road transportation systems are working on the goal of destination-driven and hassle-free driving. Research interests are growing on how efficiently traffic can be directed in a non-congested manner towards their destinations. Thanks to the improvement of car electronics, sensors, and navigation systems that all help in realizing this goal of destination-driven and hassle-free driving. It was learned that cars could not communicate with each other. Developing faster and safer cars has been emphasized in the past. However, attention is now focused on cars that talk and cars that warn. To achieve this demand, the vehicular communications have been considered to facilitate various road traffic applications ranging from traffic safety to pleasant driving applications. We intend to develop a route guidance system which can be incorporated to the existing navigation system. We fix design parameters in that goal. OPNET Simulations have been performed in accordance with the existing regulatory standards.
