Abstract :
Based on the transformer-like model of an inverter leg, analytical expressions of its losses are derived. According to these losses analytical expressions, two controlled sources are used to account for the conduction and switching losses in the inverter leg losses model. By simple composition of the inverter leg losses model, the three-phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) losses model is built using PSpice software. Under some operation states, the conduction and switching losses of VSI are simulated and the simulation results confirm the accuracy of the analytical expressions in the model. The experimental platform is built up according to the simulation model. Both the simulation and experimental results verify the accuracy of the VSI losses model.
