Abstract :
We have proposed to harness DNA and biological mechanisms for constructing molecular electronic devices and circuits. The concept of DNA-templated electronics is made possible by harnessing homologous genetic recombination to perform sequence-specific molecular lithography. Within this framework, we were able to realize a fully self-assembled DNA-templated carbon nanotube field effect transistor, demonstrating that DNA-directed assembly can lead to functional molecular electronic devices.
