Abstract :
The multiparameter radar measurements used for rainfall estimation typically include reflectivity (ZH), differential reflectivity (ZDR) and specific differential propagation phase (KDP). Each of the above measurements have different spatial variability scales. Thus rainfall estimates from each set of measurements have different spatial variabilities. For example specific differential phase (KDP) is estimated as slope of differential phase measurements (Φ(DP)). Filtering of Φ(DP) at various scales may influence accuracy and scale variability of Φ(DP) measurements. This paper presents scale analysis, and multiresolution analysis of multiparameter radar measurements
