Abstract
A novel isolated half-bridge soft-switching DC-DC converter, regulated by pulse-width modulation, is presented. To achieve regulation of the power transferred to the load at constant frequency, an auxiliary switch commutating at zero current is placed between the output rectifier and the load, which is synchronously gated with the main switches. The principle of operation, a theoretical analysis, the design procedure, and an example are provided along with laboratory experimental results. It is concluded that there is no overvoltage stress across the transistor. Because all parasitic components are absorbed, the converter is suitable for high-frequency, high-power applications
