Abstract :
As the continuously fluctuation of the operating point due to the permanent research of maximum power point which the photovoltaic source can product, the dynamic behaviour of the used DC/DC converter -adopted to realize the maximum power point tracking- will be disturbed at all time. For the aim to design an efficient photovoltaic system, the dynamic behaviour of the converter is studied based on the damping factor and the natural frequency of the system. As an example, the system under study is composed with a photovoltaic module connected to an equivalent resistive load through a DC/DC boost converter, assuming that this last one has been controlled with a direct method of maximum power point tracking. The results of analytical studies allow having an overview about the dynamic behaviour performance of the used DC/DC converter for the aim to implement a prompt maximum power point tracking algorithm.
