Abstract :
In this paper, a new eigenspace-based beamforming method is proposed. In this method, in order to reduce the sidelobe level of the beam pattern, the array weight of the conventional eigenspace-based beamformer is modified by adding a noise subspace weight which is obtained by using the penalty function method. And the computation of the noise subspace weight using penalty function method is shown to be equivalent to a constrained LS problem. An efficient adaptive algorithm for the array weight is developed based on fast subspace tracking technique. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of our method
