Abstract :
This paper deals with the implementation a fuzzy logic controller for a fast electrical drive system using a low-cost microcontroller. Thereby, a careful research was carried out, both for an appropriate off-line conditioning solution and an on-line optimal management of the target processor resources. This involved many considerations concerning original control principles, an interrupt based algorithm, computation effort reduction while keeping a high motion resolution, and the gathering of experimental data. Many models and simulations were generated, giving reasons for the choice of the best solution. The author proves, finally, by experiment, that fuzzy logic is able to lead to some unexpected results in accuracy.
