Abstract
A 900 MHz direct-conversion receiver for UHF RFID readers with low power, high linearity, and low noise in UMC 0.18 ¿m CMOS technology is proposed. This receiver possesses I/Q two paths and each path consists of a passive mixer, an IF amplifier, a RC low-pass filter and a comparator. It supports a LO frequency from 860 MHz to 960 MHz and a data rate from 40 kb/s to 1 Mb/s which are in accordance with the requirements of global UHF RFID specifications. The simulation results show that the input 1dB compression point is +5 dBm, and the noise figure is 6.88 dB. The sensitivity of this receiver is -70 dBm with a power consumption of only 1.65 mW. The layout area is 1.9 mm à 0.75 mm.
