Abstract :
Evolutionary algorithms (EAs) and distributed systems (DSs) can mutually take profit from their inherent properties. EAs can offer an efficient method to solve satisfactorily hard DSs problems by providing a number of feasible and quasi-optimal solutions. DSs are flexible enough to supply a suitable support for high performance EA implementations. This paper shows some insights for two applications of EAs solving distinct DSs problems and an implementation to support parallel processing of EAs in a distributed environment
