Abstract
MEMS technology based microphones have gradually been commercialized. These microphones have many virtues of small size, high sensitivity, flexible packaging, and so on. The paper proposes a novel and simple method for sound source localization using the directivity of MEMS microphones. The multi-microphone structure, signal processing algorithm, and system error depression technology of the method are presented. Theoretically, the maximum sound source localization angle error is 2.1° if signal acquirement frequency is 30 times the sound wave frequency.
