Abstract
This paper presents an energy-shaping design approach to the exciter-governor controller for power systems. The approach is actually an extension of the design method for single loop excitation controller given by [3]. The controller is obtained by shaping the total energy function via modifying the energy transfer not only between the mechanical and electrical energy, but also the exciter control and the governor control loop dynamics. The controller is linear with free gain functions.
