Abstract :
AER Energy Resources is a US-based technology company that has developed a rechargeable zinc-air battery system. The advantage of the AER Energy Technology Battery is that it´s energy density on a weight basis is three times that of nickel-cadmium, nickel metal hydride and lead-acid batteries, and almost twice that of currently available lithium-ion batteries. This new battery technology can enable full featured portable computers with 8-20 hours of run time with little or no increase in system weight. Portable computers with 8 hours of run time that incorporate large active matrix color screens, CD ROM players, faster processors or cellular communication capabilities will be possible
