  • Abstract
In a typical wireless ad hoc network, the nodes have omni directional antenna, which contends for a single channel access using CSMA/CA. The basic limitation of wireless ad hoc network is- it degrades the performance with large number of nodes due to collision in the network. The directional antenna got more attention than omni directional antenna because of its spatial reuse and high transmission range. Our protocol inspired by the IEEE 802.11, which includes a new scheme to inform its neighbors who was deaf due to other communication. We analyze the saturation throughput of our proposed MAC. The analytical and simulation results of our proposed MAC show that the throughput of the network is dramatically improved.
