Abstract :
In this study, combustion and emissions characteristics of YTR3105 diesel engine fuelled with different proportions of methanol/diesel blends were investigated under different fuel supply advance angle. The results showed that under the maximum torque and rated power speed, the brake specific fuel consumption decreased firstly and increased later with the increase of fuel supply advance angle, and increased with the increasing methanol in the blends. The ignition delay of the blends increased with the increase of fuel supply advanced angle, and the combustion duration decreased, NOx and HC emissions increased, while CO emission decreased. With the increase of methanol proportion in the blends, NOx and CO emissions decreased, and HC emissions increased.
