Abstract
The electrical and mechanical design of drive components must suit wiring practices based on recognized industry standards. Safety grounding, medium voltage cable termination, cable training, and electrical clearances are involved. Design shortcomings found during installation of several large 4 kV drives are discussed, together with the corrective actions taken (including the revision of specifications for later drive projects)
