Abstract :
Since 1991, Norvik has pioneered very fast refuelling of electric vehicles using the proprietary MINITCHARGER technology. In March 1993 Charging Station MkI with 150 kW power was instrumental in setting a new absolute world record for an electric vehicle, in distance and average speed, with a Chrysler TEVan. The paper reports on the state of the art achieved in battery charging with particular emphasis on the MINITCHARGER
