Abstract
Design criteria and an implementation for a power generation and delivery system simulator are presented. The system is implemented on a PC-based, graphics-intensive, operator-interactive workstation. The simulator provides the operator with the opportunity to practice possible operating conditions. The graphics interface permits realistic simulation and accelerates operator training. By unifying all control elements of the power control board and electrical system at a single location, the simulator provides a single comprehensive view of the entire electrical system. By incorporating the monitoring, logging and alarming features into the simulator, the simulator becomes an integral part of the electrical power delivery system
