Abstract
A transmitter is designed based on a new procedure, which adjusts device parameters for the FCC´s mask. The procedure analyzed the effect of the coefficients in the expression of Gaussian impulse to the PSD (power spectrum density). The rising time of the pulse was utilized to make the PSD satisfy the FCC requirement. Then the active device parameters can be determined on the basis of the rising time. Beyond that, the values of LC in the filter network were calculated according to the passband. The transmitter is fabricated in Chartered 0.18-um RF CMOS process. Spectre and Matlab simulation indicates that the PSD of output pulse in 3.1GHz~10.6GH is below −41.3dBm/MHz and satisfies the FCC mask requirement under the repetition frequency of 200MHz and the rising time of 0.06ns.
