Abstract :
The work presented in this paper is part of Finnish research project `SnowMap´, where use of the satellite imagery for snow mapping purposes is investigated. The project started at the beginning of 1997 and is continuing over the 1998 snow melt season. In the SnowMap project, the use of ERS-1 SAR imagery together with NOAA AVHRR imagery is under study
