Abstract
A method is investigated for non-contact detection of breast cancer with microwave measurement system. The breast is considered as the bi-layered spheroid. The difference between the tumor and the normal breast tissue could be detected through microwave scattering measurement. The scattering characteristics of the tumor have been analyzed. Numerical result showed that the normalized bi-static cross section is very sensitive to the tumors. The method can be used for early detection of breast cancer.
