Abstract :
This paper presents Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) RFID enabled sensors for food safety applications. The fundamental principle and applications of SAW RFID are presented. Methodology of developing SAW RFID based sensors are presented for multi-metrics identifications. Multi-sensing functions of SAW RFID enabled sensors are developed and leveraged for monitoring food environment and its logistics networks. Future work relevant to application enabling features development for food traceability is given.
