Abstract
We present experimental results on enhanced backscattering from random media measured by means of an image processing system: a standard technique in this field. As random media we employed a liquid crystal dispersed film and an aqueous suspension of titanium oxide particles. We can confirm a low coherent light source available for measuring the phenomenon without statistically averaging. Furthermore, we show the usefulness of the effective mean free path expression for multiple suspension of particles, and demonstrated a preliminary experiment on the application of the phenomenon to the recognition of the object in a random medium
