Abstract :
Recent advances in distributed, mobile, and ubiquitous systems are creating new computational environments that are characterized by a high degree of dynamism. These systems often face variations in resource availability, network connection and software and hardware platform. To support designers building open, flexible and reconfigurable systems, research in the field of reflective middleware systems has proliferated. In this paper, we introduce several basic concepts related to reflective computing, reflective system and reflective middleware, and present a detailed of review of the typical reflective middleware. Finally, we give future directions of research and conclude the paper.
