Abstract :
This paper derives the channel filters´ symmetry polarities (symmetric or anti-symmetric impulse responses), length parities (even or odd), and permissible combinations and lengths of M-channel linear-phase perfect reconstruction (PR) maximally decimated filter banks. The results are general and can be used for any number of channels M.
