Abstract :
Summary form only given. Recent advances in upconversion fiber lasers will be reviewed, most notably the progress in demonstrating relatively high (>200 mW) power levels at blue wavelengths (by using Tm:ZBLAN) as well as over 1 Watt power levels at red wavelengths (with the use of Pr/Yb:ZBLAN)
