Abstract :
As one of the most widely applied wireless technologies, WLAN of IEEE 802.11 is playing an important role in the next generation wireless communication. The 802.11e will guarantee the QoS of VoIP over WLAN. DiffServ is suitable to guarantee the QoS of communication over the IP backbone network. This paper uses NS2 as a simulation tool to simulate the mechanism of integrating 802.11e with DiffServ on how to provide VoIP over WLAN with short delay, less jitter and high transmission priority. The results of simulation show that the integration of 802.11e and DiffServ will highly promote the QoS performance of VoIP over WLAN
