  • Abstract
Accurate, relevant and accessible spatial information at the local level is critical to the delivery of many government services such as urban and emergency management. Also a key problem of organizations like National Cartographic Center of Iran (NCC) is that they produce - from time to time - some spatial data which is usually not included in any Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). Therefore we developed a GeoPortal - the KhorasanSDI - as one stop portal that gives the possibility to access and share such geodata produced by NCC. The KhorasanSDI is realized using open standards of OGC and ISO. It allows describing the geodata sets with metadata according to ISO 19115. This metadata can be queried using a Web Interface to a Catalog service and also using a bounding-box through a Web Map Service (WMS). Geodata itself can be accessed to the client directly though a Web Feature Service (WFS).
